Symrise Aqua Feed is committed to minimizing its environmental footprint as one of the four pillars of the Symrise sustainability agenda. With this and other initiatives, we support our customers in the Low Carbon Transition.
Symrise has set the ambitious goal of being climate-positive (Scopes 1 and 2) starting in 2030. We also intend to be climate-neutral by 2045, including Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (indirect emissions linked to energy), and Scope 3 (indirect emissions from the entire supply chain).
LCA is a tool to evaluate the environmental impact of a product through all the stages of its life. In line with Symrise climate ambition, Symrise Aqua Feed focuses on climate change Scopes 1, 2, and 3 (greenhouse gas [GHG] emissions in CO2/kg).
Valorizing marine by-products with only a few inputs in our formulas is key to ensuring low carbon emissions (Scope 3). Specific data per product may be provided on request.
Even if GHG reduction is a major factor in fulfilling our climate ambition, other indicators will also be considered for the full assessment of alternative ingredients: responsible and sustainable sourcing, certifications, biodiversity, and more.
