Could you describe your job?
I am managing the Operations department, which includes Safety, Production, Maintenance, Purchasing and Logistics. My role is to define the Operation strategy and implement it on a daily basis with the local teams.
Always provide to our customers the right product at the right cost, in safe conditions!
When did you join the company?
I joined Symrise in August 2010. At that time, I signed a contract without knowing where I was going to be assigned! After few months of training in France, I moved to Thailand for 3 years (Petfood and Aqua Feed activities) as R&D and industrial project manager.
Could you tell us what is a typical day as a “Global Operations Director”?
My daily activity is divided into 2 main parts. On one hand, I’m working with the local team on the short and middle terms projects to always target a high level of performance in our plants. On the other hand, I’m working with my colleagues from the board, on the Symrise Aqua Feed’s global strategy to prepare the growth of the coming years.
What has your experience at Symrise Aqua Feed been so far?
I have held 4 different positions in the last 9 years at Symrise Aqua Feed, so the group always gave me the opportunity to grow and learn.
Last breaking news…? I will spend the rest of this year in Ecuador to work closer with the whole LATAM Operations team!
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I enjoy being part of a small, human-sized team within a large group. We are about 140 people within Symrise Aqua Feed worldwide. I manage a very concrete part of the day-to-day business (production and industrial projects), while working on the global strategy, with a strong ambition for growth.
What are your passions in life?
I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also do a lot of sport and especially squash and running. For me, the key is to find the right balance between professional and personal life!
Could you tell us a fun fact about yourself?
I spent 2 months in Antarctica for Symrise on a vessel, to fish and process some krill. I came back only 8 days before my wedding, so it was a bit stressful for my whole family (especially my wife…), because I wasn't sure to be on time!
